In this case, I can't separate the song from the climactic scene in the pilot of Miami Vice, where Crockett and Tubbs drive through the city to face the drug kingpin who murdered Tubbs’ brother. It sounds so spooky and determined, and so unlike Phil Collins.

Actually, it sounds EXACTLY like Phil Collins. Ever heard "I Don't Care Anymore", "Long, Long Way to Go", "Mama" and "Tonight Tonight Tonight"? :-)
